Hi There,
The book is absolutely brilliant and such an insight, I wish I had read it back in July last year prior to producing my first show! It will be fantastic reference guide in the future.

Hi there,

Thanks for the book, and the opportunity to go beyond it via this website.

Towards the end of chapter 5 (p 90) there is mention of further details of how to avoid FSA regulations by approaching potential investors for smaller shows. It says further info is available on the website, but I can't seem to find that. Not sure if I'm not looking in the right place!

Any further info on this particular area would be very welcome!

Thanks very much,
Nick

<blockquote><strong>Hi Nick,

Thanks for pointing out this omission. I have updated the Downloads page of the site to link to http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2005/1529/pdfs/uksi_20051529_en.pdf which is the relevant legislation, see p51 of the document for the actual statements you need to get investors to sign

Good luck with your ventures and thanks for reading.

All best,
James</strong></blockquote>

James
Having plunged feet first at very short notice into co-producing my own play (I'm a writer) at the Courtyard Theatre, I bought your book (in the NT bookshop) and found it very useful and well-written. Needless to say, there has been a lot of ad hoc improvisation which hasn't quite followed the rules in the book. A MORNING WITH GUY BURGESS runs until Jan 30 in Hoxton and if you have a free evening this week to see it I would be delighted to invite you. The cast of 8 are quite astonishingly good (see photos on Facebook). I have no idea if the show has any future beyond Jan 30 or even if we will break even, but I would love to hear your views.
Best regards

Hi James

Thank you very much for your excellent "So You Want To Be A Theatre Producer" and accompanying website. I have dabbled on the fringes of the industry for a few years and am in the process of forming a new theatre company, and your book is proving really informative and encouraging

I just thought I'd drop you a note to say that I've spotted a couple of obsolete/dead links which you might want to consider updating at some point, both under the Chapter 5 section:

1) Scottish Arts Council now call themselves Creative Scotland with their website at http://www.creativescotland.com/

2) Arts and Business' website is now at http://www.artsandbusiness.org.uk/

Thanks again and best wishes,

Hello,
Just finished reading the book. Loved every page of it. I know it'll also come in handy as a reference book every time I produce a play.
Thanks so much.
